If you are planning on spending time in the outdoors this summer, always remember to protect yourself against harmful UV
rays. It is important for children to be educated by their parents on the potential dangers of the sun, as they will receive
half a lifetime dose of UV rays in their first fifteen years. Parents should encourage their children to:-

  • Slip on clothes made of a close-weave fabric that covers the neck, arms and legs
  • Slop on a Sun Protection Factor 30+ water resistant sunscreen, which is the highest protection factor available
    in Australia.
  • Slap on a wide-brimmed hat that covers the face, neck and ears.

Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world and everyone should be taking care in the sun to protect from
dangerous ultra-violet rays this summer.
